Know that Your Body is Unique

Remember that everyone is different. Comparing yourself or your progress to someone else’s won’t do you any good. This is about YOU AND ONLY YOU! What works for someone else isn’t always going to work for you. Find a plan that suits your needs and stick to it. Be consistent and give yourself time to see long lasting results.

Be Realistic

It’s hard to stay faithful to to realism especially when you have the fitness industry spitting images and short term diet and exercise plans that supposedly yield extreme results and happiness . Do not let this get to you! If you want to try something new go for it! I encourage anything that will help you along your journey, but don’t get upset or give up if it doesn’t work or you. Be clear about what you actually want and give yourself the time to achieve it!

Find a Program for Your Lifestyle

Find a workout and diet program that compliment each other as well as your lifestyle!
For example, don’t expect that spending over 2 hours a day in the gym and eating 5 crackers will be sustainable. Sign up for something that progresses you through your current lifestyle and molds to it. You will be much happier when you’re not enduring the fitness roller coaster of hell as a result of putting your body through an unsustainable change!

Keep Track of Your Progress

Always always always keep track of your progress, no matter how small it might seem the only way to get through is to give yourself credit for the little things. Get measurements, pictures, body percentages and weight. The worst thing is getting through your journey without anything to compare it to at the end.

Be Patient

Patience is everything! Without it you could be setting yourself back physically and mentally. There’s too many things in life that can get you stressed and frustrated, DO NOT LET YOUR BODY BE ONE OF THOSE THINGS. It’s just trying to do its job and trust me it might not always do what you want but it’s a waste of time beating yourself up about it. Keep your head up and stick to the plan! You’ll get there!
